The furnished bedroom is offered in a roomy apartment which is half a floor.  The 144 square foot room has a high ceiling, has windows on sides, closets, ample bookshelves, a platform queen-sized bed with large drawers below, an air conditioner and overhead fan, desk.  In short:  it is ready for moving in. The room is on the west side of the building, so it is quiet, and the building itself is a neighborly, small, friendly community.  The fee, $1200 per month, includes all utilities.

This is part of a large apartment on 111 Street between Broadway and Riverside. A 1909 building, it has high ceilings, and nice wood floors. The #1 subway is one block away, Riverside Park is half a block away.  The neighborhood is wonderful, close to Columbia University, with the amenities that appeal to students:  excellent affordable restaurants, great bookstores, etc.

Renter has access to the public spaces: a large, fully-equipped kitchen, a large living room, a dining room, has a private bathroom.  Renter has access to the roof facilities.

There is plenty of space for privacy, plus public space. I respect privacy.

Seeking a person who is mature-minded (regardless of age, although prefer 25 +), gay-friendly, considerate in all the ways an apartment mate should be.  International is a plus, but not required.  The resident owner works in the apartment as a writer and documentary filmmaker.  This room would be ideal for graduate students and young professionals who can appreciate what the apartment and the area can offer.
