We have an amazing 200 sq ft room with 13 foot high ceiling and one 5' x 10' window that provides immense natural lighting in early 20th century public school building w/ a modern elevator, furnished room and wooden floors. This former school is on the list of historic landmark buildings of New York City. The space is perfect for students that need privacy and quiet space.
We are short 10 minute walk from Columbia’s School of social work and 3 blocks form The Wallach Art Gallery at Columbia University Lenfest Center of the Arts. The commute is easy. The building sits directly above the 125th ADBC express subway station. The subway entrance is 50 feet from the front door. The A and D trains run express - Columbus Circle / Central Park: 6 minutes / Times Square: 8 mins / 34th St: 10 mins / West Village-NYU: 16 minutes / LES: 20 mins. Columbia University, Manhattan School of Music and City College & its campus are a short walk. The modern kitchen and bath are shared with 2 other large rooms in the apartment. You share those with one male Columbia student from France, and other male who works in music non profit world. Common areas are hallway, kitchen and bathroom. The building has tons of character, with preserved ironwork and moldings, but underwent a complete renovation in the mid 90's, so there is a modern elevator, digital security doors, video surveillance, laundry in the building. All the electric and plumbing are modernized. Hot water is endless and water pressure is strong. The walls are thick - you rarely hear anything from the other rooms. I don't own a TV, but if you bring one there is basic cable and broadband wireless internet. There is an AC unit as well in the room. There is a familiar sense of community amongst the people in the building, mostly professionals and artists.
Please contact me with any additional questions. It's really a fantastic space for NYC - must be seen. Thank you
